"Pillow Fort" - (SJ21.13)
SculptJanuary is an annual event that aims to encourage artists to sculpt more by providing them with 31 topics to complete during the month of January. It is organized by CG Boost.
There are no prizes involved, but it can make you a better sculptor.
In 2021 I completed all 31 topics. Last year I presented them here on ArtStation in weekly episodes, but I've changed my mind, I'm posting them all separately now anyway.
"Pillow Fort" was the topic of SculptJanuary 2021 Day 13.
A fort of pillows personally doesn't excite me much. That's why I added the little Zorro. I like it much better that way :-)
First I modeled some basic pillow models...
...I made a few copies and I stacked them on and around each other.
I left most of them almost untouched, only 2 of them required some more serious sculpting...
I tried to make it more interesting with some colored lights...
Now...little Zorro's turn...
I didn't make more than what could be seen by the camera,...his mask...
...his eyes...
...his hat...
...and his rapier. Zorro without rapier, that's not possible!
I modeled it. No sculpture was needed for this (I only made the blade, not the handle).
So, this seemed okay to me. I didn't feel like changing it any further.
